Dr. Lihua Sheng earned her traditional Chinese medical degree from Jiangxi College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China and completed a two year advanced TCM training program at the University of Traditional Medicine in Shanghai.  As a licensed practitioner in TCM in China for over 20 years, she established an excellent reputation for clinical treatment.

Since moving to the United States in 1996, Dr. Sheng has received certificates from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) in acupuncture, Chinese Herbology and Oriental Bodywork Therapy.  She was honored as a Lecturer on TCM Pulse Diagnosis in the Acupuncture continuing education seminar sponsored by the Alliance of Third World Traditional Medicine in 1999.

Practitioners of TCM refer to energy within the body as Chi.  There are defined channels in the body through which Chi flows.  The energy is balanced in YIN and YANG channels.  Blockage in the flow of Chi or an imbalance in YIN or YANG energy is felt to cause disease.  For thousands of years, these principles have guided Eastern Medical techniques.  Restoring a healthy Chi flow and balancing YIN and YANG energy continue to be the goals of the practitioner of TCM.  Treatments employ a variety of modalities, including acupuncture, bodywork therapy and herbal therapeutics.
